Why do we have eggs at Easter? It’s the sort of question we often forget to ask, so the children will be trying to find the answer this week while they enjoy some much-loved traditions. Here’s a little factoid to get everyone started: although we owe today’s version to Christianity and a symbol of rebirth, did you know that the custom of painting eggs in spring may date back thousands of years?
Because FUNdays Club is celebrating Easter across its three sites, the children can expect activities like the tricky egg-and-spoon race, fiendish egg hunts and the chance to make pop-up cards for their loved-ones. That’s beside the time-honoured tradition of creating pom-pom chicks, of course…! In addition, this will all be fuelled by a mouth-watering treat of Easter ‘nests’ (made from yoghurt, fruit and cereal) or the winning combo of biscuits and yoghurt.
Have a wonderful last week of term, not to mention a brilliant holiday.
