Starting school’s nerve-wracking, exciting, terrifying and brilliant all at the same time, so it’s important to take things one step at a time. With a few weeks now under the Foundation children’s belt, they’re about to start at FUNdays Club; we’re looking forward to giving them a huge welcome!
It’ll be an easy-going week with lots of time for them to get used to our routine by playing in the outdoor area with sand, water and earth. In the meantime, our ‘Forces of Nature’ theme means that we’ll be learning exactly what plants need to grow. It’s just as well, because the children will be planting bulbs this week!
Who dunnit? That’s the question we’re asking this week for our ‘Cops and Robbers’ theme, and as such the children will be becoming detectives (just without the trilby hats, trench coats or badges…)!
Well, it’s either that or baddies; first we’ll draw ourselves as the most despicable villains in the land, followed by our Sherlocks-in-training going on a treasure hunt that’ll call on all their investigative skills. To get into the part, we’ll also be making craft robber masks or police handcuffs.
How quick are you? We’re after the fastest folders in the West (or Wiltshire, at least) with our Paper Craft topic. Starting us off is Origami, followed by some team-building paper challenges so we can get to know each other better.
Naturally, you couldn’t have a theme like this without a session putting together paper aeroplanes. Oh, and paper chains!
As for snack? Salsa wraps, of course…!
